Personal Development

At John Mason School, our vision is that all students excels, not only in public examinations, but in their interactions with the world around them so they are prepared for their desired destination, whichever pathway this may take.

Within the personal development curriculum, the knowledge provided is powerful because it is designed to equip students with the tools they need to live happy, safe and successful lives by giving them exposure to knowledge and experiences that will help them respond to the contextual challenges facing their own lives and their community. We want to ensure that students end their academic journey having curious, enquiring minds, are equipped with the tools to navigate and thrive in our rapidly changing world and are unafraid to challenge injustice.

Students will follow the three topic areas of Health & Well-Being, Relationships and Living in The Wilder World. Each year they will build on the knowledge they developed the year(s) before.
